This is not your mother’s Chickamauga Battlefield Race. We’ve added perks typically associated with larger races - while maintaining our hometown feel. Check these out!

1. SWAG
Swanky tech shirts (shown above) plus custom finisher medals by distance: Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and Junior Marathon. And first-time marathoners and half marathoners receive personalized certificates!

2. Runner Comforts
All races start and finish at Race Village. Aid stations and toilets are stationed roughly every 2 miles on the course. In our new and enhanced race village, runners enjoy homemade food (including our renowned soups and vegan options), chocolate milk, and non-alcoholic beer.

3. Bragging Rights
This year's Chickamauga Battlefield Half Marathon is the RRCA 2025 Regional championship for 13 Southeast regional states. There are also awards by age and sex for the 26.2, 13.1 and 5K - which means more than 250 people walk away with extra bling!

4. Scenic and Historic
Imagine quiet, winding roads with meadows, forest and pastoral views framed by low-lying mountains. In 1889, 12,000 Civil War veterans picnicked here and dedicated themselves to establishing the nation's first National Military Park. At packet pickup on Friday, November 7th, Park Rangers provide a brief historical overview at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm.

5. Safe
Bike sentries patrol for injured runners; golf carts retrieve runners unable to finish; sentries cheer you on. The race cut-off time is 6.5 hours, so you have plenty of time to stay safe.

6. Runner Tracking
New this year, spectators can track a runner's progress and see their estimated times on their phones. Racers will know their official times and placement as soon as they finish! And of course the Marathon is a certified Boston Marathon Qualifier course!

7. Spectator -Friendly Race Village
There are inflatables for the kids, food and drinks (hot and cold) for purchase, and the Fort Oglethorpe Welcome Center in the race village. And did we mention that each race starts with the boom of a cannon? First place finishers are commemorated by a cannon boom as well.
