The 2026 race series finisher medal showcases one of the most unique monuments at the Chickamauga Battlefield National Military Park. Dedicated in September 1894, more than twenty years after the Battles of Chickamauga and Chattanooga, this memorial features a snarling tiger honoring the service of the 125th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. This regiment, serving under Colonel Emerson Opdyke, acheived distinction at Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge in Tennessee in 1863 and in later campaigns until the end of the war. For their fighting reputation they gained the nickname 'Opdyke's Tigers.' You can view this monument at Chickamauga Battlefield's Snodgrass Hill.
Everyone who completes the 2026 Battle for Chattanooga race series will receive this distinctive finisher's medal.

Battle for Chattanooga Race Series
BATTLE FOR CHATTANOOGA is a series of three races commemorating this area's Civil War history. Races are held in locations where key events of the Battles for Chickamauga and Chattanooga occurred in the fall of 1863.
Details and rules:
Participating in Battle for Chattanooga Race Series is FREE and open to anyone (runners and walkers) who completes the qualifying events. Complete all three races and receive a custom-designed Battle for Chattanooga finisher's medal.
To Participate:
Finish one eligible event in each of the three races in the series.
Receive your medal at the finish line of the final race in the series.
Price:
The race series finisher medal is FREE, simply pay the entry fee for each race you run.

The Rules:
1. Battle For Chattanooga (BFC) participants must complete one eligible event in each of the three races in the series.
2. Participants' name must appear in the official race results for each qualifying race. Results posted on the Chattanooga Track Club website.
3. Medals will be awarded at the final race in the series. You may request to receive your finisher's medal by mail at no charge, request must be received by August 22, 2026 (contact at the email address below).
